Viabrane Inc. is an early-stage biotechnology startup developing a proprietary intracellular delivery technology that enables protein-based therapeutics—including monoclonal antibodies—to reach cytosolic targets previously considered inaccessible. This novel modality opens new therapeutic avenues, particularly in oncology, where ~80% of unresolved disease targets reside within the cell.

Viabrane’s patented carrier peptide (the “Viabrane-tag”) triggers an active lipid raft–mediated endocytosis, mimicks efficient viral entry through sialic acid receptors and enables cytosolic release at low nanomolar extracellular concentrations—without degradation or lysosomal trapping. A unique feature of the technology is the 5-10-fold cytosolic cargo enrichment relative to the extracellular concentration (e.g. from 100 nM extracellular to 1 uM cytosolic). The platform is modular, compatible with a wide range of therapeutic formats, and allows independent optimization of delivery and target binding.

In strategic collaboration with Xpamac Inc., Viabrane is developing stable cell lines that express monoclonal antibodies carrying the Viabrane-tag.

Viabrane’s business model includes technology licensing, joint development agreements, and long-term exit strategies through acquisition or spin-off ventures.

With a strong scientific team, growing IP portfolio, and a clear commercialization roadmap, Viabrane is positioned to become a key enabler of next-generation intracellular biologics.
