Bert is currently Senior Vice President, Business Development of Bio-Thera Solutions, a China-based pharmaceutical company, joining the company in 2017. Prior to joining Bio-Thera Solutions, Bert was the CEO of the Sarcoma Foundation of America (SFA), a rare cancer patient advocacy organization. Before joining the SFA, Bert was part of senior leadership at the American Association of Cancer Research (AACR). Prior to the AACR, Bert held positions of progressive leadership in R&D and BD from 1996 to 2010 in the pharmaceutical industry, working for Genetics Institute, Wyeth, Guilford Pharmaceuticals, MGI Pharma, Procept and Adolor Corporation. Bert holds a PhD in Theoretical Organic Chemistry from UCLA, an MBA in Finance from Johns Hopkins University and a BS in Chemistry from Butler University.
