My passion are science and people. Hence,  it appealed to me to study medicine and following undergraduate studies in Berlin, I went into surgery in the UK and Germany,  and eventually I found my passion in surgical oncology, caring for patients with breast cancer, sarcoma, melanoma and many other malignancies. To pursue my vision of science and people further and to give patients with cancer more options, I went into Industry research. I have  since led small and  large teams in clinical research, development, commercial  settings and medical affairs . Throughout this time period I was part of or led teams that developed or launched medicines in cancer, immunology, cardiovascular, transplant, infectious diseases and other diseases.  Over the years, I have completed  a research  MD, an  MBA, an FRCS, an FFPM, specialty registration and obtained GFMD(hon) and have published in several aspects of surgery, medical affairs, public health,  medicine development and the use of AI in medicine.
