Engr. Fortunato C. Leynes has more than 40 years of experience in the electric power industry spanning across generation, transmission, distribution and supply sectors. Currently, he is the  President and Chief Executive Officer of the National Transmission Corporation (TransCo). Prior to his appointment at TransCo, he was an Independent Director and the Chief Governance Officer of the Philippine Electricity Market Corporation and Chairman of its Renewable Energy Market Governance Committee. He worked as Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the Clark Electric Distribution Company. He had served as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the largest privatized electric distribution utility in Nigeria.  He was also Chairman of the Professional Regulatory Board of Electrical Engineering of the Professional Regulation Commission and held various executive positions at the Manila Electric Company and the National Power Corporation. Engr. Leynes is a licensed Professional Electrical Engineer (PEE) from the University of Santo Tomas and holds an Executive Master in Business Administration from the Asian Institute of Management. He is also a Fellow of the Institute of Integrated Electrical Engineers of the Phils., recipient of various recognitions and awards including First Place in the April 1984 PEE Licensure Examination, the Thomasian Engineer Hall of Fame and the Distinguished Thomasian Alumni Awards.
